Street League Launches First-Ever Female-Only Academy
Street League is proud to announce the launch of our first-ever female-only academy, a major milestone in our mission to empower young women through sport, education, and personal development.
This exciting new initiative will take place in Liverpool and London, with funding support from Standard Chartered and Women Win.
The female-only academy is a key part of Street League’s broader commitment to gender equality and inclusivity. Over the last 10 months, the academy has been shaped by female participants and staff from all levels of the organisation, ensuring it is designed by women, for women.
While the structure of the female-only academy mirrors our core Street League programme, we’ve introduced several bespoke elements to better support the needs of our female participants, including:
Wellbeing Packs for each participant, designed to promote physical and mental wellness.
Bespoke workshops addressing issues and opportunities unique to women.
A re-imagined approach to the sports element, now called “Active Hour,” encouraging inclusive and enjoyable participation.
As we launch this new academy, we look forward to the positive impact it will have on young women in these communities, helping them to build confidence, develop new skills, and progress into sustained employment or education.
