OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH Standard Chartered Bank (GOAL)
Helping to transform the lives of adolescent girls through sport-based play and life skills education
Standard Chartered Bank believe that ‘everyone deserves the opportunity to realise their potential’. Their global initiative Futuremakers aims to tackle inequality and empower young women from disadvantaged backgrounds. They achieve this by implementing a variety of programmes across the globe that focus on education, employability and entrepreneurship.
In 2019, Street League was selected as the UK partner to deliver the bank’s award-winning flagship education ‘Goal Programme’, in partnership with Women Win.
Delivered in schools across London and Liverpool, the Goal programme transforms the lives of adolescent girls through sport-based play and life skills education. The curriculum is delivered throughout the full school year and covers topics that are relevant to girls living in the UK and facing socio-economic barriers to employment, education or training. Throughout the programme, participants will develop self-awareness, learn about their rights, money-management and cultivate the skills needed to achieve their full potential.
Since 2019 we have impacted the lives of 293 girls and will continue to impact more in the coming years. Furthermore, the Goal programme has positively impacted our female participation rate from 10% in 2015 to 33% in 2021.
